Chicago Bar Association attorneys field COVID-19-related legal questions

Chicago Bar Association members are available to provide legal assistance on consumer and employment complaints related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization announced Friday.

Attorneys will field legal questions and complaints online or by telephone.

There is no charge for the initial call. Additionally, the CBA will waive the $30 administrative fee it charges if a caller later engages the attorney for a consultation, according to CBA President Jesse Ruiz.

"The members of the Chicago Bar Association are at the heart of the legal community and we are all pulling together to assist our communities and to support each other in this unprecedented public health crisis," Ruiz said in a prepared statement.

Coronavirus-related inquiries include complaints related to travel refunds, online shopping, texting scams and government and business impostor scams, according to the CBA.
