Batavia United Way food drives

The Batavia United Way is collecting breakfast food to share with local, low-income families and senior citizens who are struggling due to closures, job loss and other obstacles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Needed breakfast items are: cereal; pancake mix; apple sauce; peanut butter; juice boxes; granola bars; jelly; fruit cups; breakfast bars; and other nonperishable items. For seniors, requested items are: canned soup or ramen; saltines; canned fruit; creamy peanut butter; jam or preserves; breakfast and granola bars; microwaveable meal kits, such as Hamburger Helper and Suddenly Salad. Drop-off sites are: Insurance & Dealer Services, 321 E. Wilson St. and the Batavia Chamber, 106 W. Wilson St. Online orders also may be shipped to these locations.
