In videos with zoo animals, Cook County commissioner makes census push

Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison on Wednesday wrapped up his "#2020Census at the Brookfield Zoo" weekly video series to encourage residents to fill out their census forms.

The videos, posted weekly throughout February and March to Morrison's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube social media pages, feature the 15th District commissioner interacting with the zoo's animal ambassadors as he provides information about the 2020 census.

Morrison, of Elk Grove Village, said he hopes the videos provide a fun, lighthearted way to educate residents about the importance of completing the census and addresses common questions and concerns he was hearing from constituents.

"We need a complete count now more than ever as we've seen real time decisions about emergency management funding being made during the COVID-19 crisis based on census data," he said.
