ECC Foundation creates emergency fund for students

The Elgin Community College Foundation has established an Emergency Student Relief Fund to help students most affected by the coronavirus outbreak that has shuttered schools, colleges and many businesses. The fund has $10,000 in seed money from a donor. Officials are seeking community support through individual and institutional donations to ensure affected students can continue their education. Working in conjunction with Elgin Community College's Financial Aid office, the Foundation will identify students in need of financial support. To contribute, visit elgin.edu/studentrelief or contact David Davin, executive director, Institutional Advancement and ECC Foundation at (224) 361-1759 or ddavin@elgin.edu. ECC is distributing Chromebooks for loan to students in need through the college's Renner Library to facilitate remote learning. At this time, technology support is available only for a limited number of students who need assistance.
