Des Plaines closes city hall to the public

Des Plaines City Hall is closed to the general public allow staff to concentrate on essential services and operations as they work to address the impact of COVID-19 on daily operations.

Residents are strongly encouraged to conduct city-related business online, by email or by phone. Customers can pay water utility bills online by visiting desplaines.org/payutilitybills. Community member also can subscribe to receive important email updates by visiting desplaines.org/mycity. Contact information for specific departments is also available at desplaines.org/AtoZ.

With a preparedness plan already in place, officials say the city's main objective is to protect its staff, ensure continuity of operations, and take all responsible actions necessary to help prevent exposure in the workplace.

A dedicated, informational website has been created on the city's website to share COVID-19 updates, communications, and resources. The page can be accessed by visiting desplaines.org/cityupdates.
