Krishnamoorthi faces two challengers from his own party in Tuesday primary
Second-term incumbent Raja Krishnamoorthi of Schaumburg, who gained national prominence in the past year as a member of the House Intelligence Committee looking into President Donald Trump's impeachment, faces two Democratic Party challengers in Tuesday's primary.
Dr. Inam Hussain of Libertyville and William Olson of Schaumburg, leveled criticisms against the representative's record on various issues including immigration and diplomacy with India.
The 8th District is roughly centered in Schaumburg and includes areas of northwest Cook northeast DuPage and northeast Kane counties.
While Hussain does not reside in the district, congressional candidates are not required by law to live in the districts they seek to represent, either before or after election.
Republicans have until June 1 to slate a candidate for the general election.
