Charges filed in shooting of Des Plaines-area man
Two teenagers were charged in the fatal shooting of a Des Plaines-area man last week in Maine Township, officials said Wednesday.
Authorities responded about 9:15 p.m. Saturday to find that 20-year-old Hussein Darma had been shot after getting into a vehicle on the 9500 block of North Greenwood Drive and was lying in the roadway, according to a news release from the Cook County sheriff's office.
Darma was pronounced dead at the scene.
Christopher Mota, 17, of Waukegan and a 15-year-old - whom authorities did not identify - both have been charged with murder, according to the news release. Mota was charged Tuesday and was denied bond Wednesday during a hearing at the Skokie courthouse.
