Drug charges dropped against man arrested at Inverness 'stash house'

Cook County prosecutors dismissed drug charges against a California man who was arrested at an Inverness home where Illinois State Police officers recovered 108 pounds of marijuana worth nearly $1 million.

Alejandro Martinez-Medina, 30, was arrested nearly two years ago following an ISP North Central Narcotics Task Force investigation of what prosecutors described as a "stash house."

Martinez-Medina was at the house when officers arrived and gave them permission to search the premises.

According to prosecutors, the charges were dropped after the judge ruled in favor of the defense's motion to quash evidence.
