Lake Forest Symphony cancels remainder of season
The Lake Forest Symphony has canceled the last three concerts of its season.
Rising costs and a lack of fundraising were cited as the reason for the decision, according to a news release from the symphony.
The symphony's future is unclear, but the community is invited to a "strategic planning initiative" to determine what will happen to the group, the release said. Ultimately, the organization's board made the decision.
Timothy Corpus, the symphony's executive director, could not say whether the symphony would return for next season.
"There are a lot of unknowns currently, especially because there is a need for community support," he wrote in an email to the Daily Herald.
Concert ticket holders will be contacted. Corpus said tickets can be refunded or donated to the organization.
The symphony, in its 62nd season, sold out concerts last weekend and is coming off a Grammy nomination last year.
