Gurnee Park District to open garden plot reservations in March

The Gurnee Park District is again accepting reservations for garden plots from local families and businesses. The plots can be used to grow organic flowers, herbs and vegetables. Reservations open Sunday, Mar. 1, through Friday, May 1, for plots near Mother Rudd House in Esper A. Petersen Park on Kilbourne Avenue and on the west end of O'Plaine Park at O'Plaine and Russell roads. There are 16 plots at Mother Rudd and 10 plots at O'Plaine. Reservations are granted on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register or have questions answered call Jeff Reinhard at (847) 599-3770.
