Arlington Heights police raise $7,400 for Special Olympics

Arlington Heights police raised more than $7,400 for Special Olympics in 2019, officials reported.

For at least a decade, the department has helped raise funds for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. In 2019, that included the 11th annual O'Hare Plane Pull, Dunkin' Cop on a Rooftop, Truck Convoy and Handprints Bringing Change.

The year-round campaign's goal is to raise money and gain awareness for the athletes with intellectual disabilities who participate.
