Stevenson High wins state chess title

Stevenson High School's chess team won the Illinois High School Association state championship last weekend.

Stevenson won all seven rounds in the two-day tournament, which was held in Peoria. The Patriots knocked off Hinsdale Central High for the title.

It's the second state chess title in the Lincolnshire school's history. The first was in 2008.
