Rosemont mayor to have surgery Jan. 31

Rosemont Mayor and Republican state Rep. Brad Stephens will undergo surgery to replace a hip and repair a fracture in his right femur.

In a post on social media, Stephens said he suffered an injury in his home over the holidays. He said he will have surgery Jan. 31 and is expected to return to the General Assembly in a matter of weeks following recovery.

Stephens' 20th District legislative office will remain open during his recovery to provide constituent services.
