Barrington High principal getting ready to show off dance moves
Barrington High School Principal Stephen McWilliams is preparing to show off his dance moves for an annual fundraiser.
McWilliams and five other community and business leaders will take part in "Dancing With the Barrington Stars" from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre, 2401 W. Higgins Road in Hoffman Estates.
The festivities will benefit the nonprofit Barrington Area Council on Aging.
McWilliams said he expects a fun and entertaining night. He also joked during a recent Barrington Area Unit District 220 board meeting about his training.
"I've got a dance floor in my basement," he said with a laugh. "I haven't graduated to the main floor yet."
Along with McWilliams, the other stars are Barrington Hills resident Josie Croll, who acts, directs and produces for Parker Playhouse; the Rev. Zina Jacque, pastor of the Community Church of Barrington; Barrington real estate professional Tiffany Marshall; longtime BACOA volunteer George Peirce: and Matt Warman, co-owner of Warman Construction in Barrington
Tickets are $125 apiece or a table of 10 for $1,200. The donation will cover a glass of champagne, passed appetizers, dinner, games, raffles and the main dance-floor event.
Pledges made before, during and after the performance will determine the winners. BACOA officials said judges may decide the best dancer, but the contestant who attracts the most pledges will be named champion.
