Naperville cops hunting for armed man who tried to rob Uber driver

Naperville police are hunting for an armed man who tried to rob an Uber driver Thursday afternoon near Olympus Drive and Tupelo Avenue.

The driver said he arrived around 12:10 p.m. to pick up a fare. When the man got in the vehicle, he tried unsuccessfully to rob the driver.

The driver told police the man was armed with a handgun. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, wearing dark clothing and standing about 5-foot-11 with an average build.
