Registration open for Buffalo Grove Citizens Police Academy

Registration for Buffalo Grove's 2020 Citizens Police Academy is underway. The 10-week course will begin Wednesday, Feb. 12 and run through April 15.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department began the academy in 1997, giving dozens of residents and community members an opportunity to get to know officers and their responsibilities.

Participants will learn about all aspects of police work, including speed enforcement, traffic crash investigation, crime scene processing, emergency dispatch, firearms safety, public information sharing, defensive tactics, CPR certification and more.

The academy meets one night a week for approximately three hours. The program is for those 21 and over.
