Chicago man charged with theft from Bartlett construction site

Bartlett police last week arrested a 42-year-old Chicago man accused of having stolen light fixtures and light mounts from inside a construction site trailer.

Shad E. Hutchins was charged with felony burglary, felony theft and felony electronic fencing. On Dec. 2, officers investigated a burglary to the trailer on the 1500 block of West Stearns Road. Police said that investigation concluded that Hutchins had committed a burglary and theft on or about Nov. 26 and then used the internet to sell several of the stolen light fixtures.

Hutchins's bail was set at $10,000. He must post 10% to be released from custody pending trial. His next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Jan. 16 at the DuPage County courthouse in Wheaton.
