Three hurt in crash that caused fire in St. Charles Township
Three people were injured in a St. Charles Township crash Thursday evening, officials said.
Two vehicles crashed around 6:15 p.m. near the intersection of Randall and Red Gate roads in St. Charles Township, causing one person to be trapped inside a car, according to Fox River and Countryside Fire Department battalion chief John Rice.
One of the cars started on fire following the collision, Rice said.
Two people were taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva and one person was taken to St. Joseph Hospital, Rice said. One person was "semiconscious" and her condition was unclear. The other two had minor injuries, according to Rice.
A stoplight was knocked over as a result of the crash, and lanes were briefly closed as a precaution, Rice said.
