Elk Grove changes Bret Michaels, KC and The Sunshine Band dates
Elk Grove Village has flip-flopped dates for two performers on its upcoming summer concerts lineup.
Now, disco group KC and The Sunshine Band will play Tuesday, July 14, followed by rocker Bret Michaels Tuesday, July 21.
The rest of the lineup for the village's 12th annual Mid-Summer Classics Concert Series - with Daughtry on Saturday, July 4, and The Beach Boys Tuesday, July 28, - remains the same, village officials said.
The lineup change of the two middle concerts was precipitated by a scheduling conflict with Michaels, who will be touring with Poison, the hair band with whom he came to fame in the 1980s. Last week, a U.S. stadium tour was announced featuring Poison, Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.
Michaels and Poison will be in Arlington, Texas, July 14 - the original date of his Elk Grove concert. The stadium tour comes to Wrigley Field Friday, Aug. 28.
The last three Elk Grove summer concerts will take place on the Village Green outside the Elk Grove municipal complex, 901 Wellington Ave. The first one is scheduled during the Lions Club's annual July 4 festival at Rotary Green on Lions Drive.
