Man charged with murder in death of Park City woman

The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force charged a man with first-degree murder following the death of a 68-year-old Park City woman early Tuesday morning.

Jeffery M. Thrall, 60, no permanent address, was charged after a Lake County state's attorney's office's investigation determined he stabbed his relative, as yet unidentified, following his release from Lake County jail, according to reports.

Park City police and the Gurnee Fire Department responded to a call for a person in distress, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities identified Thrall as the person of interest.

Investigators located the victim's vehicle at a service station in Waukegan near the area of Green Bay Road and Sunset Avenue shortly after the murder. Inside the vehicle, authorities saw an individual who matched the description of Thrall, and he was taken into custody. Thrall was charged with two counts of first-degree murder Tuesday, with a Lake County judge setting his bond at $5 million. He is next due in court on Dec. 19 at 1:30 p.m.
