No one injured in fire at Geneva factory

No one was injured Thursday night in a fire at a manufacturing plant in Geneva.

The Geneva Fire Department said firefighters who responded about 10:25 p.m. at Industrial Hard Chrome, 501 Fluid Power Drive, saw smoke coming from several open overhead door and flames inside the building coming from a large machine used for buffing and polishing chromeplated metal products.

The fire was extinguished around 11:30 p.m. and confined to the machine and its dust collection system, according to the news release.

There was no structural damage to the building or other machinery, the fire department said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No damage estimate was available Friday.
