Fire damages Lindenhurst home

A Lindenhurst home has been left uninhabitable due to smoke damage after a home fire Sunday morning.

The Lake Villa Fire Department responded to the 2000 block of Burr Oak Lane just after 11 a.m. Sunday after multiple calls from neighbors about heavy smoke exiting the home's basement. Prior to their arrival, the family was able to evacuate without injuries.

After extinguishing the flames, firefighters deemed the building uninhabitable due to smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
