Youth Advisory Council meeting changes location

Organizers of State Sen. Dan McConchie's Youth Advisory Council have announced a new location for the Tuesday, Oct. 22 event.

The council, which will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:25 p.m., will now be at Barrington's White House, 145 W. Main St., Barrington.

It was previously scheduled for Barrington Village Hall.

Speakers are McHenry County State's Attorney Patrick Kenneally, WCIA TV Political Reporter Mark Maxwell and local business owner and business coach, Bonnie Conte. High school students in the 26th Senate District participate in a hands-on learning experience about public policy and the legislative process.

Participants will meet with Sen. McConchie twice during the school year - in the fall for Part I and once in the spring for Part II - and will learn directly from leaders and work together to develop ideas for possible new state legislation.
