District 59 hosts focus group, launches survey

Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 will host a focus group for parents and community members Tuesday, Oct. 15, as part of its strategic planning process.

Attendees are invited to share feedback on the district's mission, vision and long-term goals from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the district's administration center, 1001 Leicester Road in Elk Grove Village. Spanish translation will be provided.

An online survey for parents, staff, students and community members also is open until noon Oct. 15. It is available at surveymonkey.com/r/NZ5R2GL.

Officials say they want perspectives of both internal and external stakeholders on the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities facing the district. The school board hired the Consortium for Educational Change to lead the strategic plan update, which will shape the direction of the district for the next five years.
