Financial aid seminar Tuesday in Arlington Heights

A college financial aid seminar for students and families is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library.

The event is hosted by state Rep. Mark Walker, state Sen. Ann Gillespie and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. Representatives from the commission will be available to assist students through the financial aid application process, including FAFSA and how they can qualify for scholarships and grants.

Students can apply for aid at the event if they have the proper paperwork, including a social security number, federal tax returns, W-2s and banking statements.
