Free financial literacy course Oct. 17 in Grayslake
A free Finance 101 Workshop will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the University Center, 1200 University Center Driver, in Grayslake.
Hosted by Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza and Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim, the course will help participants acquire the tools to set goals, create savings plans and learn how to maintain a personal budget. In addition, participants will learn about loans and how to pay off debt.
"Financial literacy is critically important to financial independence and success," Mendoza said in an announcement of the event.
