Jazz & Jokes fundraiser in Lake Forest
Bravo Waukegan, a Lake Forest-based nonprofit organization supporting music education in Waukegan Unit District 60 schools, will host its Jazz & Jokes friend-raiser Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be at Gorton Center's John & Nancy Hughes Theater, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. It is open to the public, tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at www.gortoncenter.org/events or by contacting Bravo at (847) 722-5821. The goal of the event is to share Bravo's mission to attendees and provide an entertaining evening of music and laughs. The event will kick off with jazz music performed by Waukegan High School alumni, followed by 90 minutes of comedy from three Chicago-area comedians, Mike Preston, Patti Vasquez and Tim Walkoe.
