Salt Creek Rural Park District holding youth obstacle course race

Salt Creek Rural Park District will hold its second annual youth obstacle course race at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Twin Lakes Recreation Area, 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive in Palatine. Geared for participants 6 to 14 years old, the 1.25-mile obstacle run will feature 12 to 14 man-made and natural obstacles along the perimeter of the golf course. Early registration for $25 per person is available at saltcreekpd.com through Sept. 18 using program code 100115. Day-of-event registration will be available at Twin Lakes on the deck beginning at 8 a.m. Sept. 21 for $30 per person and only cash will be accepted. All registered participants will receive a race goody bag and more.
