Downtown Palatine Street Fest opens

The Downtown Palatine Street Fest opened at 5 p.m. Friday with the 1980s cover band Sixteen Candles.

The festival continues from 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at 110 W. Palatine Road. It features food from local businesses and food trucks, a pet parade, the Feet Fest race, a bike race, bingo, a farmers market, inflatables, face painting and games for kids.

Saturday's entertainment headliner is 7th Heaven, and Sunday's is American English. Admission is free. Visit www.palatinestreetfest.com for more.
