Students return to school in Wheaton Warrenville District 200

Any first-day jitters went poof! Wednesday in Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 where students received a warm welcome back from teachers and administrators.

Teens arrived in style to Wheaton Warrenville South High School, walking a red carpet to officially head back to class.

Superintendent Jeff Schuler hopped on the bus to launch a tour of schools, giving Twitter shout-outs to the bus driver, police departments and faculty along the way. By 12:30 p.m., Schuler already had made 10 stops in the 20-school district.

At Bower Elementary, did new Principal Bridget Moore, a District 200 grad herself, have some first-day butterflies, too? Not by the look of her contagious smile greeting students and their families at the Warrenville school.

And that's how you kick off a new school year.

District 200 serves students in preschool, 13 elementary schools, four middle schools and two high schools.
