Palatine village council to vote on video gambling Monday

Palatine village council members are scheduled to hold a final vote Monday, Aug. 12, on whether video gambling should be allowed at bars, restaurants and other establishments in town.

The session will begin at 7 p.m. at village hall, 200 E. Wood St.

In May, councilmen reviewed potential fees, licensing and other proposed regulations for the establishments before agreeing administrators should refine some areas for a final document. More than 60% of Palatine voters rejected video gambling in an April 2015 advisory referendum, but the issue periodically has resurfaced since then.
