Using native plants year round

Landscape designer Denise Sandoval will discuss the year-round use of native plants to create color and interest at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Fremont Public Library, 1170 North Midlothian Road, Mundelein. Sandoval, designer and owner of Good-Natured Landscapes, will discuss the natives she uses most often for their beauty, versatility and ease to grow. These plants do well in clay soils, are easy to find, and take a range of moisture and sun conditions. Visitors will learn the plants' physical attributes, behavior, how to use them and wildlife they support. There is no fee or registration required. Call Sandy Miller (847) 546-4198. The event is sponsored by Wild Ones Lake-to-Prairie Chapter.
