Free health screenings Thursday at Gurnee library

Free health screenings will be offered outside the Warren-Newport Public Library from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday.

Representatives from the Community Care Connection - a mobile health unit from Rosalind Franklin University - will be in the parking lot outside the library providing the screenings of blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, body mass index, osteoporosis screenings, foot exams and other conditions on a first, come first serve.

Community Care Connection staff also will direct people who do not have a doctor they see on a regular basis because they lack insurance to resources they can use, such as the Interprofessional Community Clinic for the uninsured at Rosalind Franklin University Health Clinic in North Chicago.

Warren-Newport Public Library is at 224 O'Plaine Road in Gurnee.
