Boz Scaggs cancels Elk Grove show for health reasons

Boz Scaggs' concert July 9 as part of Elk Grove Village's Mid-Summer Classics Concert Series has been canceled due to health reasons.

Citing doctor's orders, the singer-songwriter announced a postponement of the June and July leg of his "Out Of The Blues" tour.

Elk Grove officials said they are exploring the possibility of a replacement concert for July 9, assuming a band can be available on short notice. In a statement, they said they were saddened to learn of Scaggs' health concerns, and wished him a full and speedy recovery and good health in the future.

The rest of the concert series lineup will proceed as scheduled, kicking off with Melissa Etheridge on July 4 at Rotary Green on Lions Drive. The concert series then moves to the Village Green outside the Elk Grove municipal complex, 901 Wellington Ave., with The Commodores on July 16, Wynonna & the Big Noise on July 23, and Night Ranger on July 30. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m.
