Street maintenance to start Monday in Arlington Heights

Starting Monday, crews will begin to spray a liquid agent onto Arlington Heights streets that were resurfaced last year to seal the pavement from the elements.

The process includes the street being swept, the liquid reclamite sprayed onto the pavement one lane at a time, and limestone screenings applied. It can take a few hours at a time and streets must be free of parked vehicles. Cars can exit driveways, though sidewalks, concrete and brick driveways may be temporarily stained, village officials said.

The work by contractor Corrective Asphalt Materials to finish all designated streets is expected to take the entire week, weather permitting.
