Barrington High grads take a senior walk

Barrington Area Unit District 220 last week continued what's become a fun tradition for Barrington High's graduating seniors.

The district held its third annual senior walks May 28 and 29 at its eight elementary buildings and St. Anne Catholic School in Barrington. Participating seniors wore their caps and gowns to their former elementary schools and walked through the halls as the younger students and teachers cheered them on.

Senior walks have been popping up in the suburbs since video of one in Texas went viral in 2016. The idea is to have the seniors inspire the next generation.

Former District 220 spokeswoman Morgan Delack initiated the first senior walk there. Now in a similar communications job at Palatine Township Elementary District 15, Delack helped organize the district's inaugural senior walk May 17 with Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211.
