Hoffman Estates summer concert series begins Thursday

The Hoffman Estates Arts Commission and the Hoffman Estates Park District will kick off the 23rd season of "Summer Sounds on the Green" at the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green with a performance featuring the energetic R&B dance sounds of R-Gang, at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 6.

It will be first of eight featured musical acts to perform free summer concerts on Thursday evenings.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or a lawn chair to the amphitheater, and picnics are welcome.

New for 2019, the Hideaway Beer Garden will be offering a variety of food, craft beers and cocktails for purchase. Weather permitting, the Hideaway will be open until 10 p.m. Thursdays. The Craft Canteen also will be available on the hill overlooking the amphitheater.

The Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green is located at 5510 Prairie Stone Parkway, across the street from the Sears Centre Arena in the Poplar Creek at 59/90 Entertainment District.

The Summer Sounds concert series continues on Thursdays at 7 p.m. through Aug. 1. There is no Summer Sounds concert on July 4, but patrons are invited to the free Northwest Fourth-Fest and 9:30 p.m. fireworks at the Sears Centre Arena.
