Lindenhurst Memorial Day ceremony

A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, at the Lindenhurst Veterans Memorial near the entrance to village hall, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road.

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. James Mukoyama, Jr. will be the keynote speaker. Linda Rockwell, manager of JourneyCare, will briefly explain a special program for veterans.

The Lindenhurst-Grayslake Police Explorer Post 2008 Color Guard and Lake Villa/Lindenhurst VFW Post 4308 will participate. Music will be provided by Lakes High School Band. A three-volley salute will be conducted by Lake County Detachment 801 of the Marine Corps League.

In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the public works building behind village hall.
