Officials are investigating a Saturday night traffic crash in Aurora on Route 59 near Meridian Parkway.

A motorcyclist hit a pole in a crash that did not appear to be fatal, according to tweets from the Aurora Police Department. The accident shut down southbound traffic on Route 59 at North Aurora Road and northbound traffic on Route 59 at Liberty Street/Jefferson Avenue, police said.

Debris from the crash required the lane closures, police said. The department advised drivers to take alternate routes, such as Eola Road.
