New Forest View Elementary principal in District 59
Michael Wall has been appointed principal of Forest View Elementary School in Mount Prospect effective July 1.
Currently assistant principal, Wall will replace Meg Weickert, who has been principal for 18 years. His appointment to the $102,000-a-year job was approved this week by the Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 school board.
Wall has been assistant principal since the beginning of this school year, and previously was an instructional coach at Admiral Byrd, Clearmont and Devonshire elementary schools. He was also a fifth-grade teacher at Clearmont from 2011 to 2016. He started his career as a teaching assistant in Indian Prairie Unit District 204.
Wall earned master's degrees in elementary education and educational leadership.
