New administrative post filled in Wheeling Twp. District 21
Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 has hired an administrator to fill a newly-created position.
Kim Cline will become the district's assistant superintendent for support services and school safety at a base salary of $148,000, effective July 1. Superintendent Michael Connolly asked the school board to create the position in February to strengthen student support systems in the district.
Cline, who was one of 13 to interview for the job, comes to District 21 from Keeneyville Elementary District 20, where she has been director of student services and exceptional populations for five years. Connolly was District 20 superintendent until his hiring in District 21 last year.
In Keeneyville, Cline oversaw development of special education programs, including more effective English-language learning and bilingual programs, and increased the number of social workers and psychologists serving the district, officials said.
