Arlington Heights Community Bike Ride set for May 11

The Bike Arlington Heights Community Bike Ride is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 11, beginning at North School Park, located at Eastman and Arlington Heights Road.

Cyclists can choose between a 4- or 13-mile ride, with route guidance provided from members of the Arlington Heights Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission and the Arlington Heights Police Department's bike patrol.

The theme is "ride to the parks," which will help encourage residents to explore their local parks and enjoy a safe alternative to driving.

If you are not able to ride your bike to North School Park for the start, please park your vehicle in the North Garage adjacent to North School Park.

The event also includes bicycle mechanical assistance. All riders are asked to wear a helmet and be familiar with rules of the road and basic bicycle operation.

Riders can register on the village's website, vah.com, or on the day of the event beginning at 8 a.m.
