New Friendship Junior High principal hired in District 59
Friendship Junior High School Assistant Principal Bill Timmins has been appointed to the top post at the Des Plaines school, effective in July.
The Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59 school board approved his $107,500-a-year appointment as principal at a board meeting Monday. Timmins has been at Friendship for five years, after spending seven years at Grove Junior High.
He was chosen out of a field of 80 applicants who submitted resumes in February. Six were invited back for interviews with the administration and staff, and two were named finalists.
He will replace Jodi Megerle, who has held the position since 2014.
