Top award for Sundling Junior High School band director
Band director Jeff Zilke of Walter R. Sundling Junior High School in Palatine has been chosen as a winner of this year's Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Awards.
Sponsored by Quinlan & Fabish Music Company, the award has recognized excellence in the music education profession since 1989. About 150 music educators have been honored over the years.
Zilke will officially receive the award during a ceremony in June. Sundling Junior High is part of Palatine Township Elementary District 15.
