Establishment slate wins election to North Barrington village board

A slate of three establishment trustees in North Barrington easily rebuffed a challenge from a two-person slate that had campaigned on a promise to bring the village government more energy and better communications.

The Focused on North Barrington slate lead the field with 282 votes for Trustee Janice Sauer, 279 for longtime Trustee Lawrence "Lawre" Weiner and 270 for Plan Commissioner Gregory "Greg" Rogus in the unofficial returns.

That was enough to outdo the North Barrington, No Better Place slate of contracts manager Jay Murphy, who tallied 221, and small business consultant Doug Ramsdale, who garnered 182 votes.

The establishment village board candidates won even thought incumbent Village President Albert Pino apparently lost his re-election bid.
