Challengers sweep out incumbents in Tower Lakes

Voters in Tower Lakes ousted two incumbent village trustees to sweep in a slate of challengers.

In the unofficial returns, school teacher Caroline Milne led the field with 203 votes.

She was followed by slate-mates Christine "Chrissie" Mena, the Barrington Area Development Council's 2018 Barrington Citizen of the Year, with 189 votes and Randall "Randy" Spiess with 167.

Trustees Paul Kierig and Joe Skurla railed the field with 154 and 153 votes respectively.

The TL3 slate ran on a theme of fresh, younger leadership in a campaign that displayed little acrimony.
