Police: Shoplifter threatened Arlington Hts. store employee with stun gun

Arlington Heights police are seeking a woman they say threatened a sporting goods store employee with a stun gun Saturday morning after she was confronted about shoplifting.

According to police, the woman was stopped by the employee after she was seen concealing merchandise about 10:18 a.m. Saturday at Dick's Sporting Goods, 401 E. Palatine Road. She brandished the weapon and then left the store with the concealed merchandise. She was last seen leaving the area in a silver minivan or SUV with Illinois license plates.

The suspect is described as a black woman in her early twenties, approximately 5'4" and 120 pounds, wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt with "PINK" written in white, outlined letters across the front, matching maroon sweatpants, and a pink knit winter hat with a ball on top.
