Glen Ellyn police investigating armed robbery at 7-Eleven

Glen Ellyn police are searching for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven store at gunpoint early Sunday.

During the robbery, the suspect, described as between 30 and 40 years old, was wearing blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a green or brown coat, Deputy Police Chief Kurt Vavra said Monday.

The man showed a handgun and took an undetermined amount of cash from the store on the 800 block of North Main Street, near the village's Five Corners intersection, Vavra said.

The man then fled north on foot, Vavra said. Police were called about 6 a.m. Sunday.

There were no reports of injuries.
