CLC writing workshop on April 4

Chicago-based author Jessica Anne will read from her multigenre book, "A Manual for Nothing," at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in Room A013 at the College of Lake County's Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St.

Anne also will offer a free, creative writing workshop that day from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in Room T332. "A Manual For Nothing" (Noemi Press), which incorporates fiction, nonfiction, poetry and drama, is the story of a young girl who sets out to paint a portrait of her sexual identity and her artistic ability. Anne's writing workshop, part of CLC's Spring 2019 Reading Series, will explore character voice. Writers will learn how to invent persona in their work using hybrid writing, found text, dialogue and rant. No preregistration is required.
