Attempted robbery at Aurora Dollar General
A man attempted to rob a Dollar General located on West Galena Boulevard in Aurora Monday night, according to a Facebook post from the Aurora Police Department.
The man was unsuccessful, but Aurora police are still on the scene, according to the post.
Rumors had swirled online that the robbery attempt was also a hostage situation, but police said that wasn't true.
"Reports on social media regarding a hostage situation are incorrect," the post read.
